Creating Awareness, Inspiring Change!
Gender-Based Sensitization Campaign at Lapas Market (2025)
In 2025, a successful Gender-Based Sensitization Campaign was organized at Teshie township, bringing together market women, traders, youth, and members of the community to promote awareness on gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV).
The campaign focused on educating participants about the different forms of gender-based violence, the importance of mutual respect, equal opportunities, and the need to create safe spaces for women, men, girls, and boys. Through interactive discussions, public engagement, and the distribution of educational materials, participants gained valuable knowledge about recognizing, preventing, and reporting gender-based violence.
The outreach also emphasized the collective responsibility of community members to speak out against abuse, support survivors, and promote a culture of respect and inclusion.
The Gender-Based Sensitization Campaign at Lapas Market served as an important platform for community engagement and advocacy, reinforcing the message that lasting change begins with awareness, education, and collective action. By working together, communities can help eliminate gender-based violence and build a safer, more equitable future for everyone.
